I am an attorney in Minnesota and South Carolina. I practice consumer protection law, which includes everything from student loan law to auto fraud to class actions for deceptive trade practices. If you have a consumer or money problem, I can probably help. If not, I will refer you to someone who can.
I worked at a CPA firm before I decided to go to law school. I discovered that I wanted to be in a position to actually help people with their money problems, not just tell them how to report it. I graduated from the University of Saint Thomas- School of Law, where I was on the Dean’s List, received a Dean’s Award, and was a recipient of a Dean’s Scholarship. While in law school, I interned with several organizations including the Office of Minnesota Attorney General. These internships helped me understand how many people in our community need help with consumer and financial issues.
My goal is to help people enforce their rights and to make people aware of their consumer rights. There are many laws designed to protect your rights relating to student loans, debt collection, credit reporting, or even debt settlement. The problem is very few people, even attorneys, know and understand these laws. In addition to practicing law, I meet with Congress and Senators to advocate for your consumer rights, I am a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates appeared on the radio to discuss student loans and bankruptcy, provide free financial clinics online, and I was named a Minnesota Super Lawyers Rising Star for Consumer Law in 2013 and 2014.
Outside of practicing law, I am father, a husband, an avid Marquette basketball fan, and enjoy playing soccer and triathlons.
